The Apostle of Tennessee: The Indefatigable Life and Ministry of Father Aloysius Orengo will be published by Vanderbilt University Press on August 15, 2026. The book, part of VUP’s Truth, Lies and Histories of Nashville series, tells the story of Fr. Aloysius “Luigi/Louis” Orengo, O.P., an Italian immigrant and Dominican missionary priest who served Middle and West Tennessee for 25 years from 1848-1873.
